So, all of this might seem a little confusing - probably a LOT for those players not there.
This website might help explain a few things about what The Strange is: Monte Cook Games - The Strange.
However, only SHane's, Defa's and Blair's PCs really need to read most of this, as they actually have knowledge of The Strange. Others just need a general gist.
In fact, Shane is going to (hopefully) attach the pages for Estate Opperatives from The Strange Corebook (p8-9). This gives you your background for who the Estate is and what your role is, and a little about the 'world'.
For the rules concerning your PCs I will point out in individual threads in your PC Forums, but basically:
1. Your Descriptor remains exactly as is.
2. Types & Flavours remain as they are, BUT you also get access to another Type's features. The Types from The Strange are a little different from the Cypher System Core Book, but your current Type is simply 'aligned' to one from The Strange. Basically this just means you get a larger choice of options when taking Type abilities. (You also get basic features needed to translate etc, but again, I will point these out in the PC Forums).
3. Focus. This is the big one. This can actually CHANGE depending upon where your PC goes. So, if a Focus does not make sense on Earth you change to another. Some Foci can 'translate'. For now, it would be good for everyone to know what Focus they have on Earth. So this cannot rely upon magic, futuristic tech etc. You don't have to rebuild you PC with this, but you can create your 'Earth you' if you wish.
For now, just read the Estate page entitle Welcome to the Strange from the core book (if you have it and hopefully Shane can get attached to the Data Log Page. Shane and Blair (as you have Knowledge - The Strange), feel free to have more of a read of the Core book, especially concerning terms like Quickened, Spark, Translating etc and The Strange itself. Don't read the individual recursions (other than Earth of course) or the cyphers, creatures etc.
I know this is a big shock to the system. Feel free to ask questions. ;)
